Like all martial arts organisations, there were a lot of changes in the way Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu and Lohan Qigong had to be taught over the last year. With Chan Family schools being located around the world, each country’s situation has been different.

The 2020 quarantine saw the cancellation of all international and national seminars. Many Choy Lee Fut schools have also not been able to hold regular in-person classes either, but this has varied around the world. Despite these changes, most countries have seen Choy Lee Fut continue to be taught online, and some countries have been able to resume standard classes in 2020. Our thoughts are with all who have been and are still being affected by the pandemic.

With Sydney being fortunate enough to have brought its cases down, Chinese New Year performances are going ahead this year. The Sydney headquarters school has partnered with the City of Sydney to launch a series of Chinatown revival performances, ahead of Chinese New Year. You can find out more with this coverage of the parades by Xinhua.

Wishing everyone Gung Hei Faat Choy for the year of the Metal Ox. The Chan Family schools will continue to seek out opportunities to lift spirits in their local communities and help with recovery during this Chinese New Year period and beyond!
