Kung Fu Intermediate Classes

The intermediate classes continue to develop your skills in Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu, with additional techniques, applications, forms, weapons and dummies.

  • Mondays 7:30pm – 8:30pm
  • Wednesdays 7:30pm – 8:30pm

This class is intended for students who have graded the 4 levels of the beginners class (usually 1-2 years).

Beginner classes include:

Students will typically train the intermediate class for at least 2-3 years before advancing to the advanced/instructors class. However, this is not compulsory and most of our students find the intermediate class alone is suitable enough for their needs.

Below is the full curriculum for the intermediate class:

Intermediate Level 1

  • Fist form: Siu Moi Fa (Little Plum Blossom Fist)
  • Weapon: Seung Gap Daan Gwan (Double and Single Headed Striking Pole)
  • Dummy/sparring form: Ching Jong (Balance Dummy)

Intermediate Level 2

  • Fist form: Sup Ji Jit Fu Kuen (Cross Pattern Subdue the Tiger Fist)
  • Weapon: Moi Fa Daan Dou (Plum Blossom Broadsword)
  • Dummy/sparring form: Sa Ba Jong (Sand Bag Dummy)

Intermediate Level 3

  • Fist form: Dai Sup Ji Kau Da Kuen (Big Cross Smashing Fist Form)
  • Weapon: Gwan Dou (General Gwan’s Knife)
  • Dummy/sparring form: Revision

Intermediate Level 4

  • Fist form: Sei Mun Kiu Jau Saang Ma (Four Opening Bridges, Running the Live Horse)
  • Weapon: Soi Sau Sin (Breaking Hand Fan)
  • Dummy/sparring form: Sup Ji Doi Chag (Cross Pattern Sparring Form)

Intermediate Level 5

  • Fist form: Baat Gwa Saam (Heart of the 8 Directions Fist Form)
  • Weapon: Wu Dip Seung Dou (Butterfly Double Knives)
  • Dummy/sparring form: Sup Baat Yam Yeung Gwan (18 Strikes Ying+Yang Pole)
  • Dummy/sparring form: Tung Yan Jong (Copper Man Dummy)
